The annual fundraiser for Career Transition for Dancers has always been a significant night in the world of dancing but this year it was an evening which everyone was looking forward to and it would be etched in the memory of everyone forever. Patrick Swayze’s wife for 34 years Lisa Niemi was present at the occasion to receive the Rolex Dance Award on behalf of her husband. In a moment which was emotional for the audience, the performing dancers and definitely for Lisa Niemi, she accepted the Rolex Dance Award and shared her feelings and expressed everyone else’s when she said that her husband was then dancing with the angels.

Patrick Swayze was a very accomplished actor who was equally popular for the roles he played in films and on television. He had the honor of being included in the People magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive list and was a favorite of innumerable fans. But above all this, what helped him get noticed and ensured that he always stood out was the fact that he was an accomplished dancer. A man with all the dance moves Patrick Swayze was a great dancer on and off screen and was rated highly by one and all.

The Rolex Dance Award was presented at the fundraiser which was organized for the Career Transition for Dancers. The basic philosophy behind the initiative is to make a change for better in the lives of dancers who due to reasons like age or career affecting injuries have had to quit dancing.
